The new challenges of integrating different types of information, in relation to their content and nature, require the applicability of ontologies, as a technique for organizing and representing information, and semantic interoperability, for the communication and interpretation of the various systems in a clear way.
The CCG/ZGDV Institute has a team specialized in the design of ontologies and semantic interoperability, applied to innovative approaches aimed at developing qualified information management. Through data characterization, information specification and ontological mapping, it is possible to respond to interoperability problems, by allowing the integration of different information systems.
