Development Technician
With 30 years of existence, the CCG/ZGDV Institute (www.ccg.pt) dedicates its activity to applied research and development in the fields of information, communication and electronic technologies, as well as their applications, in a national and international context. A competition is open for the award of 3 Employment Contracts for the position of Researcher and/or Development Technician, under the following conditions:
Scientific Areas: Computer Vision, Machine [Deep] Learning, Federated Learning, Biomedical Image and Data Analysis, and Artificial Intelligence.
Admission requirements: Candidates must have a PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.
Priority will be given to candidates with:
- In-depth knowledge of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence techniques (i.e., Machine Learning [Deep], Federated Learning) and Data Science;
- In-depth knowledge of image analysis and biomedical data, particularly in use cases such as breast cancer or lung cancer;
- Programming skills in the Python language and Deep Learning tools (e.g., frameworks like Pythorch and Tensorflow).
- Experience in participating in technical-scientific projects and/or producing scientific publications related to Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence applications in the analysis of biomedical images and data.
2. JOB DESCRIPTION:
The selected candidates will develop their activities in the CVIG (Computer Vision, Interaction and Graphics) group of the CCG/ZGDV, in particular, in the research and development of algorithms and methods of Machine [Deep] Learning and Federated Learning with a focus on the analysis of images and biomedical data.
3. WORKPLACE:
The work will be carried out at the facilities of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (Setúbal Campus), at the Computer Graphics Centre, based in Guimarães, under the scientific guidance of Professor Dr. Miguel Angel Guevara López and Dr. Edel Garcia Reyes.
4. CONTRACT DURATION:
The contract will be in effect for 12 months starting in May 2025 and will be renewable for another 24 months, depending on the skills and results achieved.
5. MONTHLY SALARY AMOUNT:
The salary amount will be defined according to the academic background, skills and abilities demonstrated by the candidates.

- Doctorate certificate, in the case of foreign candidates, it will also be necessary to present proof of recognition of the Doctorate awarded by a foreign higher education institution, by a Portuguese higher education institution.
- Copy of the leading scientific publications (up to a maximum of 5) related to the scientific areas of this application
- Copy of identification document.
