CCG/ZGDV joins iCAMBreeder project to revolutionize aquaculture with Artificial Intelligence
1 October, 2025

The CCG/ZGDV Institute is participating in the iCAMBreeder project – Monitoring Turbot Breeders using Artificial Intelligence, an initiative within the COMPETE2030 program, developed in partnership with FLATLANTIC – Actividades Piscícolas.

The project's main objective is to create an intelligent monitoring system that uses advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computer Vision (CV) technologies to observe and analyze the behavior, feeding, and reproductive status of turbot in aquaculture.

Through this innovative approach, iCAMBreeder aims to enhance fish health and reproductive performance, thereby contributing to increased productivity, reduced operational costs, and promoting more sustainable and efficient practices within the sector. The system will enable real-time data collection and interpretation, creating new opportunities for precision management and evidence-based decision-making.

For the CCG/ZGDV, this collaboration represents a strategic opportunity to explore new applications of computer vision, AI, and machine learning in challenging industrial contexts, such as aquaculture. By developing advanced technological solutions tailored to the sector's demands, the CCG/ZGDV reinforces its mission of transferring scientific and technological knowledge to the industry, promoting digital innovation and environmental sustainability. iCAMBreeder positions the CCG/ZGDV as a relevant partner in the field of precision aquaculture, a rapidly evolving sector that combines science, technology, and sustainability. Through this project, the Institute continues to consolidate its role as a leading Technology and Innovation Centre, dedicated to digital transformation and the development of applied solutions that generate positive economic and social impact.
