FRAMEWORK

The XR-GRIT project is part of the digital transformation and technological transition of industry, particularly in the ceramics, glass, and stone sectors, which show low levels of digitalisation but high automation potential.

This transformation aligns with the goals of the European Union and the Portuguese Government for industrial modernisation, specialised training, and sustainable development.

PROPOSED SOLUTIONS

The XR-GRIT project aims to develop a gamified immersive training solution in robotics, tailored to the ceramics, glass, and stone sectors.

The project seeks to upskill professionals in these industries through Extended Reality (XR) technologies, promoting digitalisation and industrial modernisation.

CCG/ZGDV CONTRIBUTION

CCG/ZGDV is responsible for developing the gamification framework, creating the XR scenarios, and integrating the entire solution into the VIROO platform.

The main results include an immersive robotics training course, three complete XR scenarios, and evidence of the impact of immersive technologies on industrial training, contributing to digitalisation and improved workforce skills.
