FRAMEWORK
The INNChild project arises in a context where the importance of the early years of life for children's cognitive, emotional and social development is widely recognised.
Between birth and three years of age, the brain is highly plastic and particularly sensitive to early experiences and the quality of interactions with parents and carers. During this period, positive, responsive and informed parenting plays a decisive role in promoting children's well-being and healthy development.
Despite the increase in digital solutions to support parenting, many of the applications currently available have significant limitations, namely a lack of personalisation, reduced interactivity and poor integration of validated scientific knowledge. Most of these solutions focus on monitoring routines and physical indicators, offering little support for understanding child development and early identification of risk signs.
SOLUÇÃO PROPOSTA
The INNChild project proposes the R&D of an integrated digital platform focused on parenting support and monitoring child development for children aged 0 to 3 years.
This technological solution goes beyond current applications, which focus on passive monitoring (sleep, feeding, weight), offering a system of personalised recommendations based on scientific evidence. The platform integrates interactive simulations of parenting practices, allowing parents to virtually try out effective strategies to stimulate their child's motor, cognitive and socio-emotional development, tailored to each stage and profile of each child.
In addition, the solution will use AI to identify warning signs in child development, based on the information provided. The platform will also give parents access to information about the different responses available for the specific needs identified. It is important to note that the growing demand for digital parenting support solutions is driven by the lack of personalised solutions that integrate validated scientific knowledge and interactive technologies, which makes INNChild a concrete response to overcome these gaps, addressing the urgent need for more dynamic and responsive support for parents and carers.
Contribution from CCG/ZGDV
This project will help CCG/ZGDV deepen its expertise in explainable AI and system interoperability, with concrete application in an area of high social value and scalability potential.
Its implementation promotes access to digital tools that support the comprehensive and equitable development of children aged 0 to 3 years, through evidence-based parental training, enabling them to monitor their child's development in different areas, such as motor, cognitive, emotional and social development, as well as supporting the identification of warning signs that may indicate the need for professional intervention.
