FRAMEWORK
The CONECTIC project aims to promote the economic valorisation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) developed by R&I organisations, through a proof-of-concept programme.
The project also aims to strengthen collaboration between R&D organisations and companies, particularly SMEs, in areas such as Cybersecurity, Big Data and Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, IoT and Automation, across Portugal's less developed regions (North, Centre and Alentejo).
Focused on ICT sector, the project addresses the need to bridge the so-called "valley of death" between research and its commercial application by supporting early-stage technologies and creating the conditions for their validation, demonstration, protection and transfer to market.
PROPOSED SOLUTION
The project is structured around a Proof-of-Concept Programme designed to support ICT technologies with economic valorisation potential.
The main activities include:
- Establishment of a network of specialised mentors;
- Selection and support for the development of technologies created by R&D organisations;
- Development of technology roadmaps and technology watch studies;
- Implementation of demonstration and testing activities;
- Support for technology certification, intellectual property protection and internationalisation;
- Capacity building for researchers, R&D organisations and companies in areas such as technology commercialisation, R&I–industry collaboration and the sustainability of R&D initiatives;
- Communication and dissemination activities, participation in events, and a final Open Day organisation.
CCG/ZGDV CONTRIBUTION
CCG/ZGDV conducts applied scientific and technological research in the field of ICT, acting as a strategic interface between knowledge-producing institutions (universities) and industry to foster business innovation and promote the economic valorisation of scientific knowledge.
Given its nature and expertise areas, CCG/ZGDV makes a significant contribution to achieving the CONECTIC project objectives. To this end, it brings together a highly qualified multidisciplinary team with expertise in technology, business development and management, supported by extensive experience gained through dozens of R&I projects developed for and with industry.
This ensures that the CONECTIC project is supported by the required level of expertise and qualifications, providing an effective response to the challenges of technology transfer in the ICT sector.
