CCG/ZGDV opens doors to innovation and knowledge transfer
20 October, 2025

On 3 November, the CCG/ZGDV Institute will open its doors to the community for a full day dedicated to innovation and technology. The CCG/ZGDV Open Day will be a unique opportunity to explore up close the projects and technological solutions that are transforming industry and society, within the scope of the PRR – Recuperar Portugal Mobilising Agendas and the Interface Mission.

The event will bring together government representatives, European officials, industry partners, and academia for a day of reflection, live demonstrations, and celebration of technological innovation.

Among the institutional figures attending are Pedro Dominguinhos, President of the National PRR Monitoring Commission, João Ferreira, Coordinator of the Interface Mission, and Alexandra Vilela, President of COMPETE 2030. Their participation reaffirms the CCG/ZGDV Institute’s role as a national reference Technology and Innovation Centre, committed to creating solutions that enhance competitiveness and sustainability across Portuguese industry.

A key highlight will be the keynote speech by Paulo Cunha, Member of the European Parliament, who will present a European perspective on the role of technological innovation in shaping the continent’s future. Roundtable discussions focused on smart cities, sustainable mobility, and industry transformation will bring together representatives from organisations such as Efacec, Sonae Arauco, TUB, Ubiwhere, Vista Alegre, Cotec, and Produtech, fostering an engaging debate on the future of digital economy and sustainability.

One of the most symbolic moments of the day will be the inauguration of the CCG/ZGDV Demonstrator Space, where participants will be able to experience, first-hand, technological solutions developed within the PRR Mobilising Agendas and the Interface Mission. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore projects in generative artificial intelligence applied to industry, collaborative robotics, and medical image processing—areas in which the CCG/ZGDV Institute continues to demonstrate scientific and technological excellence.

The afternoon will feature the presentation of exploratory projects funded by the Interface Mission, reflecting the institute’s ability to connect research, technology, and industry around real-world challenges.

The event will conclude with a celebratory moment marking the 32nd anniversary of the CCG/ZGDV Institute, symbolising more than three decades of commitment to research, innovation, and technology transfer that continues to drive national progress.
