The CCG/ZGDV Institute will open its first branch in Portugal on July 10th, at the Setúbal School of Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (ESTSetúbal/IPS). This new unit will operate as an extension of the CCG/ZGDV at the IPS, reinforcing this strategic partnership to boost the region's applied research and technological development.

 

The new CCG/ZGDV branch aims to promote innovation and research projects in computer vision, artificial intelligence, data science, virtual simulation of equipment operation, and design of customised physical flight platforms, among others. It will also host curricular and professional internships, support master's dissertations and doctoral theses, and promote the training and qualification of students and professionals.

One of the significant investments is the creation of the “Medical Image Processing Laboratory” to develop innovative solutions to support clinical diagnosis and treatment. At the same time, the new CCG/ZGDV branch will devote special attention to developing customised physical flight platforms with drones through computer simulation using complex systems and interactive information visualisation, promoting the convergence between digital technologies and engineering.
