Objective:

The IntVIS4Insp project has as main objective to conceive, develop and demonstrate new concepts of flexibility and adaptability for the areas of automatic inspection, using the manipulation of complex objects, through the systematic use of computer vision technology and artificial intelligence.

This objective encompasses the following specific objectives:

To design a flexible and adaptable image acquisition platform to the requirements of the inspection process, regarding the rate of image acquisition as well as the various HW alternatives and acquisition protocols;

To develop a platform of generic tools for basic image processing and analysis (2D and 3D) and artificial intelligence, which can be made available for automatic inspection applied to different objects;

Develop computer vision tools dedicated to the extraction of three-dimensional information from objects, in order to increase the flexibility of robotic systems;

Develop a robotic system of bimanual manipulation to support the inspection of complex objects, together with the vision system, following an active vision approach;

Develop an architecture of interoperability, responsible for linking the inspection system to the production chain, capable of following the increase in flexibility and adaptability of computer vision algorithms and artificial intelligence.

Expected Results:

To achieve the objectives identified, at the end of the project it is expected the following results:

Image acquisition/3D system and manipulation of complex materials;

Computer vision algorithms combined with artificial intelligence for surface and shape analysis;

Computer vision algorithms combined with artificial intelligence for position detection and 3D tracking of objects;

Computer vision algorithms combined with artificial intelligence for control and adaptation of robot trajectories;

Interoperability platform.
