The INNOVCAR program comprehends a set of interconnected R&D lines. Among them, there is P689, which is focused on the development of Human-Machine Interaction (HMI) systems that will contribute for advancing autonomous driving state-of-the-art.
This new mobility paradigm brings exciting challenges for HMI systems. Assuming the car as the Third Living Space following home and workplace, the HMI will take a central role on transition tasks between manual/autonomous mode, establishing trust between the driver and the vehicle, allowing him to engage in different tasks while the car drives itself.
In the context of the INNOVCAR, the project P689 “Cockpit Of The Future: HMI Concepts And Functions” seeks to develop the interaction concepts and functionalities which will be part of the future cockpit.
CCG will take part, through its applied research domain PIU, on the tasks related to the application of a usability engineering process for validating the technologies and HMI prototypes developed in the project.
With the INNOVCAR project BOSCH Car Multimedia Portugal S.A. (Bosch BrgP) intends to continue standing as a source of new knowledge and technology “made in Portugal” for the next generation of multimedia solutions directed for the car of the future.
Following the success achieved with the HMIExcel project, the R & D partnership between Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal and the University of Minho was embodied in the INNOVCAR project.
