2017-2019 The UMinhoTech project has as main objective to promote economic recovery of R&D results produced by the University of Minho and its technological interfaces and strengthen the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge for the business sector. The UMinhoTech project aims to be a pioneer project on economic valuation of the scientific knowledge produced at the University of Minho and in its technological interfaces. With the implementation of this project the promoter Consortium seeks to achieve the following operational objectives: promote and facilitate communication with the corporate sector; promote the visibility of R&D units, raise new customers (new companies and new economic sectors); receive new projects (European and national); offer the industrial sector an integrated response University – research centers; promote the internationalization of the University of Minho and its technological interfaces. For the pursuit of these objectives the promoter of this project, consortium aims to operationalize an innovative approach of the corporate sector. 2017-2020 The umbrella project “programa mobilizador PRODUTECH SIF – Soluções para a Indústria do Futuro” (Solutions for the Industry of the Future) embodies a comprehensive response towards the development and implementation of new production systems, embedding advanced production technologies, that will equip the manufacturing industry to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 4th industrial revolution. It incorporates a strategic, coherent and integrative set of R&D activities in key domains that foresees the development of new production technologies for multi-sectorial application, and with impacts in terms of the reinforcement of the competitiveness and sustainability of the industry at international level, encompassing: Networked production systems Innovative technologies for new cyber-physical production systems Development, management and improvement of cyber-physical production systems Key enabling production technologies, automation and advance robotic systems Integral sustainability and efficiency of production systems Energy technologies Advanced tools for the development of products and services. CCG actuates within PPSs 1 (Networked Production Systems) and 6 (Key Enabling Production Technologies, Automation And Advance Robotic Systems) of this project through its applied research domain EPMQ. Transfer of Scientific and Technological Knowledge from CCG – SIAC TT

2017 – 2019 The SIAC TT project has as main objective to reinforce the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge to the business sector, promoting a greater effectiveness in the R & I System and the creation of value in organizations. With this project, the CCG – Centre for Computer Graphics intends to carry out a set of actions that stimulate and foster the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge of its 4 areas of specialization (CVIG, EPMQ, PIU, UMC) to the business sectors, as well as stimulating and enhancing its economic activities of the North region of the country. With the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge, it is intended to contribute to: create value in organizations; improve tradable solutions; increase in exports (of products and services); strengthen the competitiveness of companies and the North region.   In accordance with these objectives, the action plan is constituted by 3 complementary initiatives and one last one, transversal to all others, of dissemination and dissemination of results: Action 1 – Initiatives of Interaction and Knowledge Transfer of “computer graphics”; Action 2 – Actions to disseminate, disseminate and integrate scientific and technological knowledge in the business fabric; Action 3 – Actions for the economic valuation of R & D results; Action 4 – Dissemination actions and dissemination of results. The project NORTE-02-0246-FEDER-000037, approved on 07/06/2018, has the co-financing of the Operational Program Norte2020, and European Union through the European Regional Development Fund. 2017-2020 The TexBoost – less Commodities more Specialties mobilizing project is a structuring project of the Textile Cluster: Technology and Fashion. Its objective is to cluster collective R & D initiatives with a strong inductor and demonstrator component, involving Textile and Clothing companies, as well as other complementary sectors of the economy. Activities This project has as main activities:  developing new textile solutions, with the creation of new scientific knowledge;  to develop very innovative products and processes using state-of-the-art technologies that will provide new experiences for consumers and participating businesses;  simplify access by the companies involved in new markets/business areas or reinforce existing markets/business areas, nationally and internationally. Work phases The TexBoost project is organized in 6 PPS – Products, Processes, and Services – built from 50 activities, resulting in 17 innovative solutions in several areas.  PPS 1 – Digitization and dematerialization  PPS 2 – New materials  PPS 3 – New structures  PPS 4 – IE Textiles  PPS 5 – Circular Economy  PPS 6 – Management (management, dissemination and exploitation of results) The contribution of the CCG The CCG – Centre for Computer Graphics – is involved in the PPS phase 1 of the project, more specifically in nuclear activity 1, which includes the technological development in the scope of digitization and dematerialization of tissue samples. The applied research domain EPMQ of the CCG is responsible for the research and development of a computer tool for dematerialization of tissue samples that will comprise the conceptualization and implementation of a digital platform for integration, treatment, and analysis of decision support data in the virtual prototyping of fabrics. For this purpose, we will use approaches applied to the development of interoperability architectures and BigData and Machine Learning algorithms. These algorithms are able to learn from the history of textile data, as well as to predict and optimize variables/parameters useful for decision-making processes in textile production. UH4SP – Unified Hub for Smart Plants

2016-2018 The goal of project UH4SP is the development of a software service-oriented architecture and technology solutions, under the paradigm of IoT and Industry 4.0, which promotes corporate and aggregate vision of industrial units operations dispersed across different geographies through remote and local access; building collaborative and cross-cutting tools; optimization of operations and user experience in industrial units and, finally, system reliability. The main technical and scientific objectives of the project are as follows: Definition of design mechanisms of logical architectures for technological platforms for logistics optimization under Industry 4.0 standard. Design of services and business applications addressed to the various stakeholders invoking resources transparently. Development of new algorithms and sensing methods to improve the recognition of people and vehicles, interactions with drivers and remote technical assistance. Development of simulation models and heuristics in order to optimize logistics. Development of computing platforms supporting system operations. Development of a data storage platform appropriate to the requirements Industry 4.0. CCG’s contribution by its EPMQ and cVIG domains of applied research are critical for the project development.   EPMQ will contribute in the following topics: Cloud Computing, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 4.0 referential requirements analysis and study;  Conception of a Services Oriented Architecture ( SOA); Development of business services and applications with transparent resources invocation; Business model definition with the use of “business/IT” alignment methodologies; cVIG will contribute in three main axes related with smart sensing and support, namely: Trucker & Driver Automatic Identification with computer vision; Mobile Driver Interface with in-plant navigation support by the use of augmented reality; Remote Assistance, exploring new concepts of tele-presence in augmented reality. IGPM – Integrated Global Project Management of Industrialization Projects


This project aims to improve the performance of Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal, S.A., in Braga-Portugal, in the development and management of industrialization projects. With this project, the company will achieve recognition as a leading unit in the establishment and definition of new management practices of industrialization projects and in supplying IT technologies to support the management of industrialization projects throughout the Car Multimedia division. The project aims to develop an integrated management system for industrialization projects. To achieve this, it requires a new approach to the industrialization project management, as well as the extension and integration of existing IT tools into a single IT tool, in order to generate quality information. As results, a new systematized, integrated, global and social approach to manage industrialization projects is expected; an institutionalized and integrated approach in industrialization projects, managed by the Bosch Braga engineering unit; a prototype of an IT system to manage Industrialization projects, which will try to integrate the existing IT management tools of Bosch; and a guide to apply the systematized, integrated and global approach to the management of industrialization projects.
