The Centro de Computação Gráfica – CCG will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a program packed with activities on November 22nd and 23rd.
The CCG’s anniversary day is marked in the annual calendar on November 3, but the CCG’s first quarter-century celebrations will take place in two days filled with initiatives that you cannot miss. Here are 7 reasons not to miss this unique event.
1. Travel to the past
The CCG intends to bring together all the community and individuals who, directly or indirectly, participated in this journey and contributed to this historic milestone. If you were in any way part of the course outlined by the CCG, this will be a special moment of conviviality and remembrance, either of people, of impacting projects or of experiences in general.
On the 23rd will occur the presentation of the CCG 25 years book, with manys historical moments of this institution.
2. Getting to know the CCG
This event is open to all interested in knowing the CCG, which will open the doors of its laboratories on the 23rd, carrying out an exhibition of prototypes and demos, with the latest and innovative technologies.
3. Experiment with the innovative technologies of the present
With the opening of the doors of the CCG laboratories, the most curious participants in these celebrations will also be able to experiment with CCG technologies, thus guaranteeing experiences that will not be easily forgotten.
4. To know the technological future
The framework of actions will be a technological journey into the past, but also to the present and the future of this institution.
If you are a fan of technologies you will be able to get to know the technological panorama of the future, specifically the CCG vision for 2025.
5. To participate in the Technology Days
The Technology Days will take place on the 22nd and will cover topics such as artificial intelligence, smart cities, hybrid worlds, human factors, artificial vision, cloud and SOA architectures, criminal surveillance, vehicular networks, among many others. In addition to the presence of many experts in the subject, there will be room for questions and debate, ensuring the participation of all stakeholders in these issues.
6. To participate in the Solemn Sessions
A highlight of the CCG’s anniversary celebrations will be the Solemn Session on the 23rd, with the presence of several individuals, such as the Rector of the University of Minho, Rui Vieira de Castro, and the President of the Municipality of Guimarães, Domingos Bragança. The closing honors will be made by the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor. Certainly an event not to be missed.
7. Get in touch with an ecosystem of innovation
During these two days of celebrations, there will be opportunities to meet the CCG researchers, as well as representatives of companies and various national and international institutions, in a unique environment of technological innovation.
Among other activities, it will occur the presentation of the Innovation Awards of the CCG to the emerging entrepreneurial companies.
Presenting the development trends of the CCG’s areas of expertise will certainly be an excellent opportunity for companies to gain expert knowledge for the definition of their short/medium term strategic road maps or to identify opportunities for collaboration with the CCG.
